Teachers are accomplished and professional

I couldn’t speak more highly of Yoga Bloom! This delightfully intimate, bespoke studio, set in a beautiful garden, is comfortable and welcoming. The teachers are accomplished and professional, allowing for individual needs and abilities. I have been attending yoga classes here for the past 4 years and have loved every minute. Yoga Bloom nurtures both body and soul – what a gem!

I found that yoga was the only thing that helped.

I managed to avoid COVID for two and a half years but it finally got me four months ago and I’m still recovering. I returned to the yoga studio a month after I got it, still feeling weak and tired, with back aches and the strangest headache I’ve ever felt – it felt like there was too much pressure inside my head and something was going to explode out the top. I found that yoga was the only thing that helped.

Partly it was the calm and peace of the garden studio, partly it was spending time helping my body recover away from the hustle and bustle of life with two small kids, but it was also seemed that the inversions helped the headache – in those first few months that I was getting better, the few hours after yoga were the only times I was free of it.

I love my routine of a Monday class with Gaik and led practice on Wednesdays with Lorena – the balance of the more active, directed class and the quieter, more internal led practice. Four months on, the brain fog and exhaustion are still there, but I am slowly improving. I know that spending time twice a week in Martine’s beautiful studio helps.

If you believe that the practise of yoga is an expensive and sometimes painful way of learning (or re-learning!!) how to touch your toes again, from a standing position, -- you’re wrong.

If you believe that the practise of yoga is an expensive and sometimes painful way of learning (or re-learning!!) how to touch your toes again, from a standing position, — you’re wrong.

The practise has developed over many generations from beginnings in India 200 years ago with variations and refinements being adopted throughout the world on a regular basis. Bikram Yoga despite its heat stress environment is a classic example.

Iyengar Yoga was developed by B.K.S Iyengar over his extended life, with the use of ‘’props’’ such as blocks, supports both hard and soft and belts, in order to assist the practitioner to both achieve and then maintain the various positions they are trying to achieve.

Yogabloom is a dedicated Iyengar Yoga centre of excellence, with the emphasis on you the practitioner, being assisted in a hands on environment by wonderful teachers to maximiseyour personal capacity to achieve and improve upon the various asanas you are practising. The practice of yoga, is not a competition! It is for you to find both your physical and mentalbalance in any particular asana and to hold that pose for as long as is comfortable and stress free. Your body and your mind do indeed ‘’relax’’.

Yogabloom is an extremely well fitted out studio with any and every manner of ‘’props’’, all designed to facilitate your enjoyment and success of body and mind improvement during and after a session. Martine has recently acquired some horizontal support bars which when braced at various heights onto the existing wall bracket panels, enable the practitioner to achieve a degree of supported flexibility in any particular asana, without either the physical stress nor mental anguish often felt by ‘’going too far’’.

The Yogabloom ‘’team’’ are generally long term repeats and there’s a good reason for that statement. Any age can start and most adults should do so. No matter your current mental or physical health profile, you’ll never regret commencing regular Iyengar yoga at Yogabloom.
